DeborahDeborah Mobley, LMHC

My name is Deborah Mobley.

I have over 30 years of experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have worked as a Behavioral Health Specialist with children and parents in the child welfare system. After Hurricane Michael hit the Panhandle, I worked with Project Hope to provide Crisis Counseling Services in the shelters and the community. I also helped create a Medication Assisted Treatment Program for individuals struggling with substances. Most of my experiences are working with children, adolescents, and adults.

My extensive mental health service background shows my dedication to helping others overcome their mental health struggles.

KristinKristin Shiver, MS

Hello, My name is Kristin Shiver and I am a Masters Level Counselor and the Office Manager here at BFBH.

Born and raised in Florida, I recently graduated from Capella University with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I spent over 17 years working with children with special needs and behavioral difficulties in Early Childhood Education. I also have experience working with adults struggling with Anxiety, Depression,  Personality Disorders, and Substance issues. My therapeutic approach is founded by CBT, but I like to use an Integrated Therapeutic Approach, that best fits the individual needs of my clients. When working with children and adolescents struggling with behavioral issues, I use a CBT Play-based approach. I have a passion for empowering others and helping guide them to success.

I have also been trained in Active Parenting and can conduct the Parenting classes required by DCF or for any parent needing additional support.

I will engage with you in dialogue to create a collaborative and individualized treatment plan. I utilize a variety of techniques, all tailored to the individuality and concerns of each client, such as strength-based therapy, solution-focused, DBT, cognitive-behavioral, trauma and grief therapies, and multi-systemic therapy. My core value in therapy for my clients is a flexible and collaborative experience where the client and therapist begin to work together to best meet the client’s needs.

I am a compassionate and caring therapist with a very approachable personality, one that is inviting and calming for clients. I will focus, along with the engagement of the client, to help to create treatment plans and goals collaboratively while always focusing on your strengths. I will strive to create a warm and friendly environment that will leave you feeling safe to share and collaborate with me to meet your goals and heal what struggles are ailing you.

Mary Virginia Kline, MA, RMHCI
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (IMH22016)Thumbnail
Mary Virginia’s work focuses on supporting children in developing the skills and agency to foster positive change.

MV graduated from The University of Florida with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Disabilities in Society. She holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a specialization in Education from The University of Florida. Additionally, she is a candidate to receive her Registered Play Therapy certificate through The Association for Play Therapy.
Mary Virginia has clinical experience treating children in a large, multidisciplinary clinical setting, meeting a broad array of needs. MV collaborated with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and case managers to holistically support her clients. MV continues to subscribe to this comprehensive approach to treatment. Additionally, MV developed skills for addressing school-based issues through her work in a K-8 school, supporting students with various behavioral, social, and emotional issues. She has treated children with Autism, ADHD, trauma, physical/intellectual disabilities, and other conditions.
MV utilizes play therapy to treat her clients. Play therapy supports the child in accessing their full potential through its unique environment and connective child/counselor relationship. Play therapy is an evidence-based, developmentally appropriate approach for treating children. Children have not developed the ability to verbally communicate their needs, emotions, and experiences in a way that promotes deep and effective processing. Play therapy allows children to process their experiences in their own language: Play. This modality permits children to externalize their experiences, which assists them in experiencing the safety that is required to process stressful events. Play therapy helps children develop a positive self-concept, greater self-reliance, healthy coping skills, and much more.
Mary Virginia believes in providing children a safe, accepting environment to explore their emotions, decisions, and needs. Additionally, she works to promote a team-based approach with parents. MV believes in advocating for children to reach their full potential. She is passionate about witnessing children discover their strengths through this specialized treatment. MV is honored when children permit her to enter their world and participate in this unique process.
